This loathsome work of fiction is a dream of sorts...

She sustains me

There's never room for 2 women, in a man's life. It's for this reason, that a man leaves his father and mother, and cleaves to his bride.

As the newborn leaves the womb, does the one who brings him forth, yearn for his ever-ebbing attachment to return?

The son still needs his mother, but can his soulmate ever, truly, fill that need completely?

Are we ever-destined to sense ever-increasing loss, until the inevitable?

As if we start in a perfect state, of God-given being, only to sense more and more detachment from our source, until, finally, we realise that we're all alone, again, in the world?

I thank God, for the small woman from my loins, who looks at me, with eyes so deep and almond, who fills my heart with overwhelming love and purpose, the kind of which, I've never known, and will never know, again.

She keeps me, as she loves me, in this world, that we both know, as the vile and callous, Godless realm, in which we both survive, together.

I'll take this, for as long as we can both remain. Together.
