This loathsome work of fiction is a dream of sorts...

Is that a real minute, or a "DLR" minute?

This morning cost me the most expensive three minutes I can recall since the Dixon's sale of 2004. I pushed my card in the ticket machine at 09:27 hoping to get the next train, only to miss it. I then sat on the cheap rate train (same train, different price) with the cheap-rate crowd (don't read the FT, just babble onto each other about what time their NHS dentist opens and whether they're going to have a filling or not, that sort of thing).

When I finally arrived at my DLR connection on my cheap train with my expensive ticket, I noticed to my horror that the next train was 10 minutes and it wouldn't take me to where I wanted to go. I then waited, noticing that the minute counter was going down one minute every three minutes. The sign then changed to show the next train was 27 minutes away. Why am I going on about this? Resentment, probably. Thanks for reading...I feel much better now.
