Ever wondered what happened to all that tax the government takes out of your wage packet? Well a good bit of it goes towards supporting Prince Harry and the rest of his family. That's the Prince of England - second heir to the throne - the young man who has desperately tried recently to get his patriotic show out there into the media and do his part for Britain's Royal Family. It's all been a bit desperate because four years ago he was seen at a fancy dress ball dressed in a Hitler uniform, complete with swastika armband. He apologised for this - though it took months for him to realise and admit publicly that it had been stupid.
Well now this spoilt child has been recorded on video making racist remarks suchas "Paki" about a colleague of his. When are we going to get rid of this scum bag and his other money-sucking family members? The ruled only stay ruled if they agree to be. It's time for a referendum on an end to the monarchy!

Hmmmmmmm..........well I am tending to agree with you on this one. It is about time that this country took a long hard look at its archaic monarchy system finally put an end to them, and spend the money on things that actually matter. How about social housing? the NHS? the education system? how about better student finance?(less loans and more freebies!!!!LOL)
This family year in year out just spend spend spend but don't dip their tender perfectly manicured hands in their pockets to pay taxes and mortgages/rent, they don't worry about where their next meal is coming from and how on earth they going to scrape the money together to buy a loaf of bread, or even worry about, topping up their oyster cards to get from A to B and back again. You know the things that us 'normal' people do every day. And as for that spoiled little brat and his racist comments does he not realise that its the very same people that he is disrespecting that pay his and his whole bone idle family's way??, ungrateful little ****!!!!!!
How do we expect others in this country to be tolerant and accepting of other cultures and religions when they hear disgusting comments of this nature from a stuck up little snob!......don't suppose anyone knows how much council tax the queen pays for buckingham palace???

Stephen Fry said about this that the problem with cosmetic changes is that you only get cosmetic change. The institution of the royal family legitimises our quite well hidden aristocracy, something that will take more than a referrendum to remove. Let's take down the royal family as a first step though....
It's time to become a real democracy, where things get done and there's no more bullshit - like France! But seriously...how are we going to solve the predicament we find ourselves in?
Why does everyone do that? Well, when I say everyone I mean the Brits.

They don't rule. They have no power. They cannot say what they think. They cannot be with the people that mean the most to them. They cannot go out in public. They are trapped. It's all vary sad for what is one of the best tourism products the world has ever seen with a plot way beyond the imagination of any soap writer...
Yes, they are expensive, but they earn more.
Realisation that this is not a Monarchy, but a high profile product engineered for mass tourism as well as cultural and herritage demmands, helps to understand who they really are.

Obviously the injustice of a system that is based on hereditary privilege rather than on democratically established merit isone rule for the royals and another for the rest of us that seemsalso to be awarded with the dubious merit of paying the bill for the whole thing. I have no problem with Harry and his relatives, just as I have no problem with Obama personally - but there is a political system that is outdated and as we have observed recently no longer really meets the needs of the society it was designed supposedly to maintain. On the point of the "tourism product," the standard response would be that Spain / Holland / France / Russia maintain tourism around buildings / traditions and history without the privileged few actually living in them. In Spain / Holland, they've managed to do this without taking them to a field Russian-style and doing the "necessary." I think that it is immoral that people because of their birth are occupying our heritage monuments because they hold a position in our society that nobody has formally had the opportunity to approve of. Heritage monuments are all our heritage. This becomes especially relevant when these privileged few can't behave themselves according to the same standards regulating the rest of us - and basic decency - in our society.
But we did decide! It was kind of the whole point of the English Civil war. We beat them and instead of just killing them off, Russian Style, (which may of course had its merits) we installed them as prisoners in a glass cage.
As I said before, it's too easy to see the image portrayed for the public through the mass trash media (remembering it is the literacy classic of The News of the World that brings us these stories) that seeks to impress on us the ideal of a Monarchistic state that does not, in fact, exist.
And lets be honest, what did Harry really do? He said "our little Paki friend," is it really good enough to get the lynch mobs out for this one? does this really constitute racism? or has society meybe gone to far with the whole over sensivity towards such points? After all, if he had said Pakistani instead, no-one would care.....
And even if he was (he's not, this is just an example) a Nazi-loving racist, didn't we used to call this "freedom of speach"? Muslims can stand in parks and shout abuse to all Christians, Black rallies can attack whites, these people have freedom of speach, but Harry can't say "Paki" without the world baying for his blood? Yes, as a figurehead for the country, and second heir to the most public job in the world, he should be more careful with anything he says, but it shows how publically bad his job is when he can't even fool around with his mates while relaxing from the stresses of being on front line duty defending the honour of the country!
I'm glad I live in a Democracy with freedom of speach so that I can air my views.
As I said before, while everyone is taking this oppertunity getting angry, it just makes me sad.

Well I'm sorry to say but I was born here and I don't remember deciding that these people should be who they are, and honestly the people that made this decision are not even alive any longer!! they decided for themselves not us!! It was a long long time ago! proving that its time for a change! you know like 'change' or 'moving with the times' 'modern society' the system is not surprisingly out dated.
Anyway back to the Harry incident. Does this unruly toe rag actually know that this person he was taking the p*** out of is actually from Pakistan? He maybe of Indian decent, or even from a Sri Lankan background?........while the rest of Britain (whether English or not) have to behave politically correct in avoiding labeling those around them.......Harry can have a break from defending our country(In a war that has nothing to do with us anyway!!!) and disrespect the citizens of the country that he is second heir to!!!! and what 'honor' is he 'defending?'.......IT IS NOT BRITAINS WAR!!!!!!!!(but thats another blog topic i'm sure!!!???) Its just another excuse to make him appear pro-active and draw attention to him self!!you know the 'hero' label!.....well not with that attitude, he isn't a hero of mine (or many many others!!!!!)

Racism is an appalling abomination and also something that should be obliterated with in society. Unfortunately it is an extremely slow process. But with the likes of Harry and his comments this slows the whole thing down event further. Its about setting an example!! and he is setting a really poor one. Any one else in the public eye would also have a lot to answer to for this comment. But from a royal its on an even more disgraceful level. When guys are together, as in this case with the army, it is usual to dream up nicknames for each other, fat-bloke/lardy/guts/lard-arse (for the fat bloke), chimp (for the hairy bloke), monkey-boy (for the muscley bloke that cant walk propperly), pigsy (for the guy that snores), four-eyes (for the guy with glasses), chinky (for the oriental), and while I am in total agreement that these terms, as with the now famous "Paki" incident, can never be acceptable to a stranger, they are often used as tearms of endearment within a close unit of male friends, and this individual may actually have found the IDEA of HRH Prince Harry, third in line to the throne, using remarks that suggest this bond between "Brothers in Arms" quite affectionate, and may have used this as a thing to tell future generations about his time in the army with a celebrity.

But, at least we have managed to mess up this treasured image that he has held happily for the last three years without complaining just so that we can sell newspapers.

It's a shame that you don't care, as this stops you from understanding the context of the comment as it was made, and therefore it's true meaning and lack of racial intent, but also belittles the friendship and comraderie felt between two soldiers relaxing from a day in service to the demands of the democratically elected government of this great and beautifull country, and therefore in service to the many millions of voters and not subdugated or determined by the Monarchy and are therefore fighting for you whether you like it or not.....

And to defend from your other point, why should it be about the royal family? Harry is just one person, and was only twenty one at the time of the alledged brutal vocal racist attack on his colleague, his "Brother in Arms", his mate. And you notice how the article only centres on him (as yes, he's a celebrity) while ignoring the other twelve guys in the unit that also refer this guy as "Paki."
The Royal family are, despite the wishes of many, the biggest celebrities in the country(though sun readers might argue Jade Goody is) through the way the media (that you willingly and openly support and pay for) portrays them. They build them up so high so that they can knock them so low, just to sell newspapers, which is why the only method for change would be to kill off the media hype and let the Monarchy slowly disolve into nothingness...
But at least they made us forget all the ecconomic doom and gloom for a while so that we have more time and effort to put into buying and promoting thier product.
