Musketeers of fear

The musketeers of fear protrude,
With danger for the light & pure,
The evil darkness is their food,
Worthless, profitlessness void.

It's only here, that we are real,
With all that we can think & feel,
Leading us to feel at ease,
And do just what the hell we please.

Ensconced responses clear our heads,
Of all we thought we'd ever do,
Leaving all that's true, to be,
The lesser of the world we see.

Breaking, shaking, soaring higher,
Liars shouting at the skies,
Ships & craters in their eyes,
The clocks began to slip,
And all that we are s'posed to be,
Surrendered now, we stare aloft,
At broken minds that we had promised,
Greater times that only worlds not ours to hold like droplets, drying,
Listen to the children crying.

What are we supposed to do?
When our whole life & all it was,
Disappeared in instant haze,
Our days cut short, our stubbornness,
Razed realities, departed,
Dune of those, who, broken-hearted,
Know that life had promised more,
But honesty & all that men,
Shake free from fetters, meant to be.
