When I realised I was heading for divorce, I tried everything. The problem was, the time had passed, the love had gone & there didn't seem much respect left.
Two types of people approach impending divorce : those who hang on, whatever, and those who make the life changing, irreversible decision to leave. Then we have the jilted spouse & everything our rejections manifest.
It's a monumental decision to get in bed with the EU & then find out they just want you to fuck all the time, so you just up and leave them for the sake of your own welfare, to make your own choices for your life & to get back your self esteem.
It's hard to breakup. It costs money, people show their true colours & what people really think is manifested. It's never the same again with the aggrieved & damaged parties.
But this is necessary if you want to live, on your own, on your terms.
Children on the other hand, also fall into 2 different camps. All want to go back in time to when the relationship was fresh, & the promises were real. However, two types of children emerge, the realists who know it'll be better eventually if everyone bears the heartbreak & moves on through the hardship, & on towards better. Then there's the dreamers, denial at its height, who can't face up to the fact it's over. For these latter children, the breakup is the hardest
Following #Brexit, we need to comfort one another & work towards togetherness that makes Britain strongest on its own, two feet.
