This loathsome work of fiction is a dream of sorts...

The thought that I will have lived

It's the thought
that I will have lived
And unlike my grandparents before me,
I will be remembered.
By you.
Please remember me.
Thought I die, likely penniless,
I lived, like a rich man,
Full of life, & pulse, & impulse.
I had to be heard,
And I had to listen.
Did I listen to you?
If you spoke to me,
With your opened heart,
Then I heard, & I understood.
Because that is what I lived for.
Beyond God,
& His plan for us,
For all of us,
I lived, to connect,
& exchange,
With my defects,
On display.
Talk to me,
Speak to me,
Be honest with me.
