The curse of the assertive

Those with an assertive tone,
Use you, then leave you, alone,
Quid-pro-quo, gain & loss,
You're the loser, they're the boss,
Lying, if it suits their ends,
Manipulating "life-long friends,"
Until, there's nothing to be gained,
Unrest, protest, same again,
Rationalise, and then, despise,
Clever, mirror, their disguise,
Chameleons, performance cars,
But, you're the one left, with the scars.
Best avoided, hustlers, rubes,
"Do me now", I'm here for you,
This is what, we're both here for?
I'm not the guy, who YOU ignore!
