As my spirit whispers "Richard-
Go back, to whom, you were."
As I practice, all my gratitude,
Go back, to where, I was,
I realise, my new attitude,
Won't help me, here's because:
My folks would never let me,
Be, just who, I am.
The teachers, tried to test me,
And make me, a big man,
And all the time, I wonder,
If, I'm doing all I can?
As the general mood, is upward,
Til it's hit my top compliance,
But a tiny voice, from outside,
Says "boy, you're too defiant,"
As the wheels around me, grind & grind,
I'll search for something, I'll not find,
Then finally, I'll realise,
They think, I've lost my mind.
Now all I know, it's time to go,
The good times, lie behind,
The world, has tossed me,
To and fro,
Until, I'm finally dead, and:
The unknown, lies ahead.
But, I belong, to One, who knows,
He knows what I am, deep within,
Beyond the fake, the world, the sin,
And knows my mind, and how it goes,
And in my heart,
Forever grows.
