The Friday call to the fall
Is ringing in our ears
As steers and queers
and jokers stare
And little children
Gather there
The Lord Mayor sings
his song,
The summer now, is gone.
The birds get ready
for their flight,
To sand and warmer
places, bright
With sunshine
and the warm, dry air
I wish that I was
going there
I wish I was reborn
In somewhere
that was warm.
As cold seas crash
And neighbours clash
The peace is done
And so's the fun
The season's darkness swells
Leaving us in hell
As days turn night
And reason fights
To make all things
turn well
To break this evil spell.
The cold winds roar
Like ne'er before
We're yearning for the past
The one that didn't last
The days we wouldn't value then
The good old days
With all our friends
And bountiful respite
Before these darkest nights.
But, thank God,
that we all are here.
We breathe the air, now
Past the fear
Resilience, now our only tool
The brilliance of the countless fools
Who always wanted more
But now just want the things before.
Before the loss
Before the wars
The countless things
they're searching for
The worlds collide
We cannot hide
But peace is in ourselves
As we agree to pushing on
We sing our song
And all is well
You hear it
In our voice
We know
We have no choice
Our hearts are open
And are pure
We trudge and dance
The lightness lifts
Shutting out the noise.
As factories halt
And quiet descends
Upon the world
that never ends
As silence cries
Beneath the skies
We know that change
is on us now
As always, lighter, darker,
Colder, warmer, harder,
Never softer,
Until we draw last breath
Until we see our death.
As audiences,
free from lies,
Plead for content,
For their eyes,
Missing trees
and all our things
That nature and
all that life brings
Their hearts are vacant
Empty, hollow,
No more stuff to fill the void
Of vacuum, darkness,
unemployed.
But practice, sharpen,
Living life,
Among the din and endless strife,
Dig away, and digging down,
To meaning, bare,
Freefall, floating,
Meaning, there
And touch the flame
That's burning, bright
Touch it,
Here, there is no night.
I wanted kindness
For you now,
To ease the pains
Of living days,
And wondering what's
beyond you now,
The beauty in the sadnesses,
The meaning from the
sufferings.
What will my eyes
when next I see?
What depths of beauties
bring to me?
I love my life
You feel my heart
How everyday
and brand-new start,
Goes from dawn,
to dusk and shade,
The ice will come,
The toil invades,
To push me to that place,
Where all is love
and all is grace,
To push me there
To force me there
That precious, priceless place.
