In amongst the twisted metal,
Searching for a better time,
Feeling life, at best is brittle,
But, at least, I know it's mine.
As the world turns, to its ending,
I perceived much fewer goals,
As I see less worth befriending,
As the days grow shorter, cold.
But in my heart, there is a river,
At its heart, there is some gold.
As my members, seize & shiver,
Deep, within, I'm never old.
