The happiness of hardship

A fellow mentioned, as I was moaning about a few things, that my art & writing always improve when the hardships come.

This, in my view, is clearly evident from the recent posts here and #art posts on Instagram.

The world has also given plenty of fodder, to prompt enough discomfort, to pour-out & escape.

The catastrophe of reactionary change pervades, with those who've made their livings either telling us what to do, or telling us what those who do are going to do are scrabbling to either keep their jobs, or reinvent themselves fast enough to remain remotely relevant.

It's hard to realise that the worldwide attack on bullshit that isn't working, is now pounding on your own front door, and that the whole basis of your life has been voted out of fashion.

I watched the older generation, until I awoke, one day, to realise I had become it. I'd despised how people let themselves go, living on their past glories, that noone in the present day either understood, or cared about.

I still, now, thrive on my ability to adapt. I welcome change, and much of all I can make of it. I'm saddened by the shallowness of generation Y - the fact people wonder what I mean when I refer to it, is testimony to how little they achieved.

I watch the up and coming - perhaps how unprepared I was for how poorly prepared they are, but realising I have always been surrounded by those fakes & frauds who talk with many of the words that I have spent everything I have, to understand in a deeper way.

Nobody willingly discards their work. However, to defend what one has done, when all evidence screams forth its obsolescence in the present day, is just foolish, stubborn denial.

What's even worse, however, is the disgusting spectacle of those who've never accomplished anything - and have never known how to - proselytising others to buy into their self-deluded PR campaigns, when their lives display nothing of value for sale.
