Charisma Stockton - aka - @SoyChaiLatte

If life is art then this is one gonzo girl who's living it. When I first got to know Charisma Stockton, aka @SoyChaiLatte, she was a gonzo-gal literary-type living in New York. I initially asked her to contribute here to the "Brunette Bonanza" spot, until some soul-searching led me to conclude that she's far more than just a brunette.   

As a contributor to Byline Beat Magazine, she's proved herself not only a hardcore Hunter S Thompson fan, but also part of the ongoing continuation of gonzo to which these pages are dedicated.

Her most recent contribution was posted literally a few days ago. Entitled "NYC: Goodbye You Sexy Bitch", it continues a discussion related to her recent decision to depart New York and move to LA.

The reasons for her departure are personal and discussed in another, artfully-crafted piece, entitled "Follow Your Heart, Not Your Hormones." Like all gonzo, it has an edgy, otherworldly, slightly-mad, but deeply honest and subjective truth. She makes observations throughout her writing about the complexities of life, such as:

'I asked myself…Was this karma fucking me in the ass for my smug reactions to single girl problems in the city? 80% of New York women complain about not finding any worthy man like they’re talking about adult acne.'

Constant references to her dildo, sex and drugs speak of the strong individualism of hedonstic freedom, coupled with the perplexity at the struggles of modern life.

So, now you've met, I can get on with my primary goal, which is to show more pictures of Charisma, discuss more of her work and ideas, as well as sharing her commentary regarding the #HST75 Gonzo Reading Project in Aspen, which she not only attended, but also took an active role as a reader...kudos.
