The Gonzo Lecture - 1000 posts later

Thank you for reading this blog. It has progressed from my first post in 2008, as basically some sort of weird "prop" for a hurriedly-prepared academic presentation at a conference, to a worldwide movement in education and other walks of life. This would not have been possible without the thousands of readers who come here every month to consume its craziness.

In this time, it has wrecked and made numerous careers - and undone many more major injustices than it has created.

Most of all, it has struck fear, or injected hope into the hearts of my fellow academics and thinkers - depending on which side of the horrible trench you dare to stand.

Thank you to the late, great Dr Hunter S Thompson for his inspiration and his work.

Thank you to Rory, Marty, Barticus, David, Charisma, Professor Klash, Anthony, EmCabs, Daniella and many others for their continued encouragement.
