UK Higher Education no longer serves its purpose, & has actually become a deceptive form of sorcery, whilst still presenting itself has the only avenue for the empowerment of the masses.
Any society knows that in order to be effective and competitive, it needs to educate its citizens in the knowledge required to live and to be productive.
Nowhere is this more important than the capitalist system, which requires its inhabitants to "buy in" to the idea that they need to serve the needs of society and to do their duty as functional, productive individuals.
Thus the function of business education is to help citizens be better producers and consumers. One is actually paying as a consumer to consume a course which helps one make their fellows into better consumers. Always struck me as a little circular as purposes for ones little existence goes. All rather occupying too, like we're all just here to be plugged into the power plant so that the machines can continue on to serve us to enable them to help us to be better whatever... Fkkk
So, how to condition individuals in how to behave collectively in the most essential of society's activities : consumption - is the holy grail of modern society as it places the control for what we do in the hands of people who choose business in order to make the most money in order to consume the most goods services experiences that can be possibly commoditised by us with the limited resources we can buy and are finitely available. God, that fkkkg just hurt my head.
As this forms the basis & the backbone of society as we know it, successive governments have understood the need 2 open education and participation in it to the widest extent possible. We can only offer the limited places available to study this science if consumerism to those who can pay the highest amount for it as they are the ones who will make the most money doing it, etc. Or so do we tell them in the business school marketing blurb? I'm unsure, I just haven't had time to check on that stuff of late as I've been too busy thinking how fkkkg depressed I am at the whole prospect of this controlling our lives and those that succeed us until the lights turn off & we start eating each other. Good I'm gonna have to see that guy about this stuff cos, it's lethal.
So then when one starts actually thinking about this & realises it's basically left to the most callous, ruthless, cutthroat bandits to cut the most throats & ethical corners available to our species in order to succeed best at this "who gets the most before the music stops, " collective, "folie-a-tous". My God, it's full of *s, etc. " MAN, I pity you if you're reading this in googlized Espanol.
Poor fkkkrz.

The whole of the educational and political agenda is based on the assumption of increased consumerism and expanding economies. How can this be. The world is limited in size and natural resources and technology cannot feed the world's ever increasing population indefinitely. Something has to give and one day control will have to be established by reversing these popular misconceptions. In other words the cycle must by all the laws of common sense go both ways. Your Doomsday scenario is quite logical if you think about it.
Damn it all man progress can encompass the word 'smaller' and if it means I can pour my liquid amber into a vessel capable of containing it without spilling, I call that PROGRESS
