It began with a fright,
On a long, autumn night,
As she came, after watching, so long.
She entered my life,
Came to live, as a wife,
Came to join with me, singing, my song.
With her own badge of honour,
Which she pinned, herself, on her,
As the reason, she did everything,
She just journeyed on,
In her own, self-made song,
That she, alone, only, could sing.
She was unfit to marry,
Now she's with some guy, Gary,
Who seems happy, to have her, along.
At least, now I'm free,
To enjoy, all that's me,
Without feeling, my life's something wrong.
