#posttruth : the re-fragmentation of postructuralism

I told my lecture today that we're entering a new age - the age currently known as #posttruth

Some of us have been here quite sometime. I originally began this very work as a kind of physical evidence of a new way of thinking & communicating about education & everything that affects it.

I found myself writing my own truth - something I never felt confused itself with *the* Truth, or any of the packaged-produced bullshit of academia, which I mostly regarded as an irrelevant, elitist "club"  run by and for its own members - a sub-society of mostly self-serving hypocrites who weren't any longer interested in the establishment of truth that would benefit mankind, if they ever had been.

Don't get me wrong - there are good people working in the degree delivery business, but only a few are genuine educators, preferring to reduce their time on campus to a set of strategic game plays dedicated mostly to their own betterment. To be fair, they're mostly unashamed about this pursuit - something else I've never identified with - but that's what they want, and they do fairly well out of it.

What I can't stomach are the ones who talk a different way - referring to "student achievement" and "helping" and so forth, when really they don't give a fuck about what it is "we" do. However, I've never considered what they do as anything I'm actually involved in.

The truth is, I've never been any good at avoiding work, playing politics at the expense of others, and being dishonest with respect to my motives. I've always found it easier to simply *do* the work - something I've always derived immense satisfaction from & have been honoured to be considered by others to be good at - particularly the students who have dared to open and learn from me.

Falsehood, sorcery & fakery are everywhere - they're the afterbirth from which I am produced to the universe. I remain open to those who are willing to save themselves, and I'll help them where I can. However, satan will always end up in the lake of fire.

In the meantime, the world catches up to the realisation that we're onto them, and always were. It's the unconscious pawns in society's hierarchy and the puppet media, who continue to exist in their constructed delusions, in which they think they thrive, control & convey to the rest of their audience who they regard as gullible stupids, devoid of any aptitude for self determination.

Well, they're wrong, and always were. It's only right about now, they're starting to realise that not everything in their perfect illusion is functioning as planned...GL

Implications of the #posttruth era on professional training & higher education

We're entering a fascinating period, in which not only do we continue to observe a huge divide between knowledge that's valid & knowledge that's useful, but we're also factoring the bizarre "customer is king" component to its delivery & evaluation.

The whole idea that the public gets what the public wants, without any recognition that most individuals aren't actually even paying for it themselves, before even considering that they mostly have no direct expertise in the personalised experience they're "consuming".

We're either quickly able to provide physical evidence of the usefulness of our "product", or we're immediately subjected to our next, consumer-led, trial by character assassination.

These are interesting times we live in. The breakdown of respect and responsibile use of democracy is rife, and higher education's development of higher thinking functions are at the heart of this attack.
