Implications of the #posttruth era on professional training & higher education

We're entering a fascinating period, in which not only do we continue to observe a huge divide between knowledge that's valid & knowledge that's useful, but we're also factoring the bizarre "customer is king" component to its delivery & evaluation.

The whole idea that the public gets what the public wants, without any recognition that most individuals aren't actually even paying for it themselves, before even considering that they mostly have no direct expertise in the personalised experience they're "consuming".

We're either quickly able to provide physical evidence of the usefulness of our "product", or we're immediately subjected to our next, consumer-led, trial by character assassination.

These are interesting times we live in. The breakdown of respect and responsibile use of democracy is rife, and higher education's development of higher thinking functions are at the heart of this attack.
