A few days ago, a colleague at a college place I contract at to pay the bills said "I love #artists, they *feel* everything!" [she's from the mid-east, so imagine errr accent - so beautiful] - she's so right, of course.
It's been a shit/good few years. The UK is becoming a nasty place to live - down south, at least. Real unpleasant, dog-eat-dog competitive - as if some people couldn't just live together & produce good work, in a live & let live culture, make a living together, helping people to achieve something. It's all about the heart.
I was asked if I'd done anything new lately, so I showed em this I did yesterday :
Hope I'm getting the linking right - it never occurred to me to do before, yet makes perfect sense to link platforms together. Just didn't know got could do it on this shitty #android app for #blogger, which I've never particularly liked, since I was using it back in my blackberry days.
There no Internet here in darkest wherever, but the furniture's comfy & I get time to think.
I've been putting off travelling at all - which for a guy who for much of his younger years, hopped whole countries at the weekends, thinking he was doing God's work, I've degraded into seclusion in my later years.
I've lately been feeling my age, largely due to the generational turn of the the one I'm living in. I've become convinced that there's too much power & control in my sphere, that's gradually sucking the life-force from me.
In a way, it's good, because it brings out #art from me. I'm free in much of my painting at the moment. I'm not happy when I'm restricted in this, as well as struggling sometimes even when I'm free in my time to focus.
I deliberately haven't monetised my #art because I don't want to produce anything. The product, so crucial to the evaluation of what I do by others, might as well be termed "by-product" - not that it's shit by any means - & seems to be more greatly appreciated by others in growing numbers.
